On Jan. 20, 2021, newly inaugurated President Joe Biden addressed
his nearly 1,000 appointees to his executive branch agencies.
In the video clip to the right, he made the following remarks:
“Treat people decently”
“We work for the people”
“We owe your families. You are going to work like the devil.”
“Everyone expects to be treated with dignity”
Then, at the 6:00 min. mark, he made this bullying-relevant remark:
” … if you are ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect… talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot. On the spot. No ifs, ands or buts. Everybody… everybody is entitled to be treated with decency and dignity. That’s been missing in a big way the last four years.”
This is BIG. This means there are those on his advising staff who understand workplace bullying!
Now, we must make his administration adhere to this pledge of accountability.
