Appeal to WBI Supporters

We’re all busy, but we need your help to save our New Zealand allies, CultureSafe NZ which has been fighting against workplace bullying since 2014.

Allan Halse has helped thousands of bullied workers in ways that go beyond mere moral support and encouragement. He has represented them in cases against their bullying employers in front of the only government agency that hears such cases, the Employment Relations Authority (ERA). The unique nature of the NZ law allows Allan, a non-lawyer, to topple lawyers representing employers. His skill at marshaling evidence before government-appointed hearing officers (ERA “Members” who themselves are lawyers) has led to the largest awards granted.

Of course, as bullied targets know so well, his skill triggers resentment/envy/jealousy in bullies he has faced. Further, employers who end up losing bullying cases to CultureSafe clients also hate Allan. These two bitter groups — the ERA and Rangiura Trust Board (a company offering Senior Care, an ostensibly compassionate, caring provider but one who also drives its employees to suicidal ideation and that faced 13 cases brought by Allan against them) — teamed to drive Allan and his organization into bankruptcy by levying a $67K fine.

To corporate eyes, $67K does not look like a sum that would shut down an organization. But when that organization is dedicated solely to anti-bullying, there are no discretionary dollars lying around to pay a fine. That amount will result in bankruptcy for Allan and CultureSafe NZ.

We must pressure the RTB, the ERA and the High Court of New Zealand Hamilton Registry, Associate Judge P J Andrew prior to the August 2nd proceedings to liquidate Halse and CultureSafe NZ.
