The Drs. Namie … Stepping Aside

Dear Friends,

For the honor of it, ad honorem, we gave our heart and soul.

During the past three decades, it has been our privilege and joy to play a lead role in raising awareness about the dangers of workplace bullying to the health of targeted individuals and facilitating remedies for unions and organizations. This has been an enormously gratifying, life-changing experience.

At this juncture in our lives, however, health challenges related to aging call upon us to significantly roll back our levels of engagement. Accordingly, we will no longer be providing live training (Workplace Bullying University®), expert witness services, and personal consultations concerning bullying at work.

We are pleased that information and assistance to individuals and organizations will remain available in the following ways:

  • WBI’s free educational content for individuals and organizations will remain available on this site (https://workplacebullying.org/help4targets/).
  • SafeHarbor, the online community that we began for those experiencing and recovering from workplace bullying, will continue to be actively facilitated by our associates (https://safeharbor.discourse.group).
  • Personal, confidential coaching from WBI-affiliated mental health professionals will remain available ((https://workplacebullying.org/coaching)
  • WBI’s recorded Workplace Bullying University® education program will remain available for purchase by individuals, unions, and organizations (https://workplacebullying.org/university/).
  • The public education and advocacy campaign to enact workplace anti-bullying laws via the Workplace Bullying Accountability Act and Healthy Workplace Bill will continue at a place to be announced by colleagues to be named.

Although personal circumstances make it wise for us to wind down the more active phases of WBI’s operations, we eventually plan to write about, and reflect upon, our decades of involvement in this movement and share bits of accumulated wisdom for those who continue this vital work.

Finally, a word to those who are recovering from bullying at work: You did not deserve this abuse, nor did you bring it on yourselves. Work on your healing and recovery. Safeguard your personal health above all else. Use the free resources on this site. Find the genuine, qualified expert helpers out there.

As we said some three decades ago when we began this journey, Work Shouldn’t Hurt!

Respectfully,
Drs. Ruth & Gary Namie
